at Westside, we’re currently in a series about covenants. last sunday was the topic of purity. a powerful message for many to hear. the video a little further down was sung in the middle of the service and spoke volumes to me personally.<\/p>\n

We are not supposed to do indecent things with our bodies. We are to use them for the Lord who is in charge of our bodies . . . Don\u2019t you know that your bodies are part of the body of Christ? Don\u2019t be immoral in matters of sex. That is a sin against your own body in a way that no other sin is. You surely know that your body is a temple where the Holy Spirit lives. The Spirit is in you and is a gift from God. You are no longer your own. God paid a great price for you. So use your body to honor God.<\/em> 1 Corinthians 6:13, 18-20 (CEV) <\/strong><\/p>\n

most of you know my past and my battles with living a life of purity. whether it be lust, porn or an affair… i believe purity is a battle for everyone. and it doesn’t go from nonexistent to manageable to out of control overnight.<\/p>\n

here’s the song i mentioned just a moment ago. take a listen. <\/strong><\/p>\n

i know these matters are difficult to talk about and if you are in it — it is easy to just turn away now. but i want to know, where are you?<\/p>\n

are you in too deep? barely in? or somewhere in between?<\/p>\n

1. Understand the seriousness of sexual sin.
\n2. Evaluate where you are vulnerable to sexual sin.<\/p>\n

Possible points of vulnerability:<\/em>
\n\u2022 Who you hang with.
\n\u2022 What you take into your mind.
\n\u2022 Lack of accountability in your relationships.
\n\u2022 Lack of intimacy.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

3. Confess where you have messed up.
\n4. Commit to sexual purity from this day forward.<\/p>\n

God is more concerned about where you are headed than where you have been. We serve the God of second chances. Honor God in your sexual purity and He will honor you.<\/p>\n
