Something pretty darn cool has come my way that I am excited to share with you about: an overseas mission trip to South Africa. An overseas mission is something I never felt called to do or even desired.<\/p>\n
Until now. <\/em><\/p>\n God has truly laid on my heart the people of Africa. Specifically, the women and children affected by HIV\/AIDS and war. The more research I do, the more I learn about the people and culture and the stronger my desire to do something grows. In the last year or so I have become involved with Invisible Children and the Global Night Commute (invisiblechildren.org<\/a>) for Ugandan children and have been supporting a missionary in South Africa.<\/p>\n Recently through my church (westsidefamilychurch.com<\/a>) and an organization I trust (oceansofmercy.org<\/a>), an opportunity has become available to embark on a 10-day mission to Port Elizabeth, South Africa.<\/p>\n The mission will include:<\/strong> I’m excited about this opportunity and the experiences that lie ahead. I hope you see the value in what we will accomplish as a missions team. \n\u2022 Home visits to encourage those suffering from HIV\/AIDS,
\n\u2022 Assisting in delivering of food parcels to people in poverty,
\n\u2022 And a short safari to Kariega Game Reserve<\/p>\n
