Pray for Oklahoma — Convoy of Hope

As a Kansas City-based organization, we are very close to our neighbors to the south in Oklahoma. We cannot imagine the devastation that has taken place in the aftermath of a series of horrific storms on Sunday and Monday. The pictures and video footage just don’t do it justice.

The stories of children still trapped under the rubble of their elementary school, presumed dead, in the dark of night as I write this are leaving me with such immense grief.

As a ministry we are coming up on our once-a-year fundraising push in the month of June and while that is important as it relates to our present and future projects, today I feel it is more important that I ask you to please give toward the relief efforts taking place in OKC, Moore and the other surrounding Oklahoma towns that were affected by this tragedy.

A wonderful organization called Convoy of Hope has designated a relief fund for this area and you can make a donation by clicking here. OR you can text the word CONVOY to 50555 to donate $10 right from your phone. Convoy of Hope is a faith-based nonprofit who has served more than 55 million people throughout the world through international children’s feeding initiatives, community outreaches, disaster response and partner resourcing. Many OKC-area churches, including in Edmond, OK, are partnering with Convoy of Hope so you can feel secure in knowing your donation will be used well.

Please continue to pray for God’s comfort and peace in the lives of those affected. And let us know if your friends and/or family have been affected.

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted…” Psalm 34:18
