Something pretty darn cool has come my way that I am excited to share with you about: an overseas mission trip to South Africa. An overseas mission is something I never felt called to do or even desired.
Until now.
God has truly laid on my heart the people of Africa. Specifically, the women and children affected by HIV/AIDS and war. The more research I do, the more I learn about the people and culture and the stronger my desire to do something grows. In the last year or so I have become involved with Invisible Children and the Global Night Commute (invisiblechildren.org) for Ugandan children and have been supporting a missionary in South Africa.
Recently through my church (westsidefamilychurch.com) and an organization I trust (oceansofmercy.org), an opportunity has become available to embark on a 10-day mission to Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
The mission will include:
• Daily interaction with HIV/AIDS orphans at Oceans of Mercy Children’s Village,
• A one day Vacation Bible School and picnic for children at Diaz Farm School and Seaview Squatter Camp,
• Home visits to encourage those suffering from HIV/AIDS,
• Assisting in delivering of food parcels to people in poverty,
• And a short safari to Kariega Game Reserve
I’m excited about this opportunity and the experiences that lie ahead. I hope you see the value in what we will accomplish as a missions team. On the right side-bar I have created a link to my website that is devoted entirely to this mission and my support-raising efforts. I encourage you to check it out. You’ll have the opportunity to join my prayer team as well as the opportunity to give financially if you so wish.
If you can support me financially, I would be very grateful. But, most importantly, I also need your prayer support. Prayer is the fuel that will allow our team to be successful as we follow God’s leading in ministry to this country.
Thank you!
Crystal Renaud
Awesome. I can’t support you financially, because I am barely supporting my own family financially. I would in a heartbeat if I could. But I am excited for you and will be praying for your preparation and ministry.

Kevin, like I said, prayer support is SO much more important. I know that God will provide for me. I need the prayer support to REMEMBER that. God is having me go to Africa…. it is not of my own accord so I trust in that.
thanks SO much! if you want to, you can sign up for my prayer support e-letter on my website. the link is above!
