Monday Weigh-in #16

Did you notice I didn’t post my weigh in last week? That was either subconsious intentional or I simply forgot. I am leaning toward that I just forgot. Forgive me–but obviously you didn’t miss it cause no said anything… ANYWAYS.

I gotta tell you–I am discouraged and am becoming increasingly more disenchanted with Weight Watchers. And it isn’t Weight Watchers fault at all. In fact, it is an amazing program. Totally recommend it.

The issue is me.

Since Christmas, I have had a heck of time getting back on the wagon. For instance, look at this graph (thank you weightwatchers.com).

You can see that since Christmas… my weight has been in an up and down and up and down cycle. The problem is… I know what the problem is and how to fix it. Somehow my struggles have flip-flopped. I now workout a minimum of 30 minutes a day (with or without foot pain – which I will update you on next week), but now I eat everything and whatever want… despite the good intentions I begin my days with. I make excuses like, “oh I will just workout so I can eat these fries.” But working out doesn’t always cancel out bad eating and most of the time… it will maintain… not help you lose.

I need help. A boost. Some push back to the food disciplines I had 6 weeks ago.

Oh, where is my discipline? Oh where is my discipline? Oh, where, oh, where, oh, where, oh, where, oh, where, oh, where, oh, where, oh, where oh, where … is my discipline?

I am still working toward the goal of 199lbs that I have been fighting for since Thanksgiving. While that isn’t my ultimate goal, it is still a goal and one I really want to see on the scale. I haven’t been under 200lbs since middle school. But short-term goal isn’t a goal without an endpoint and that is now February 13 — the day I leave for Los Angeles/Las Vegas.

18 days. Roughly 2.5lbs a week.

I am more than capable of doing this if I can just find my discipline again. I am almost to the point now that if I DON’T meet that goal, I’m not going to LA at all. But I doubt she would let me cancel if it came to that.

So, I ask for your help, your support and your prayers! Because regardless of LA and all that… I want and need to be back on track and with a healthy balance.

Here’s my week’s numbers…

Hang in there friend! I am on a mission too. Had a friend offer some hard, courageous words about my eating/health habits this past week. What a kick in the pants. (I dream of our kids one day playing together…I want to do ministry with you in the future…..On your current track you won’t be here for those dreams.)–OUCH. So, I’m faithfully counting calories and making changes slowly to work towards a goal.

Anne, I almost choked on my sunflower seeds! By the way, Crystal, that’s the same message I got from my friend….

  3. I don’t have any advice for you. I’m in the same boat. I was consistent for awhile but didn’t get quick results, so now I’ve sort of given up. I’m trying to get back on track.

But 20 lbs? Girl…that is awesome. Keep going.

  4. Okay, I will help you. I live in the same town. I know where you live. I know where you work. So you tell me…what can I do to help you? I want to start working out again. So does it depend on me challenging you to eat better each week if i work out a certain number of times a week? Is it me bribing you with some sort of reward? Or me constantly staying in contact with you?

Crystal, you are amazing. You are incredible. And i know you are DANG capable of hitting your 199 mark. DO IT. YOU are strong, powerful, and a firecracker of a woman. Let me see 199, friend…let me see it. I know it’s in you.

I love love love love you.
