Cirque du Soleil

I just got home from seeing one of the coolest shows EVER… the Cirque du Soleil Live Music Event, DELIRIUM. Honestly… I must say it was one of the coolest things I have ever seen live. Here’s a little info about it and then I will really tell you my thoughts:

"DELIRIUM is the quest for balance in a world that is increasingly out
of sync with reality.
It pushes the limit of arena performance through
technical magnitude, human introspection and creative prowess. DELIRIUM
is an urban tale, a state-of-the-art mix of music, dance, theatre and
multimedia. Pumped by this re-energized Cirque du Soleil rhythm, the
DELIRIUM tour transports audiences into a universe of delirious sensory
folly."

One of the coolest parts wasn’t the acrobatics or the singers voices (although amazing and a great selling point) to me it was the multimedia elements used throughout. They had these very cool sheer sheet type curtains in which an image (video) was displayed on the sheet. At several points throughout they completely enclosed the stage with these sheer sheets. The one I particular thought was coolest was when it appeared the characters were being immersed in water.

The show is very hard to explain, but I very much recommend seeing it when it comes to your area. A unique arts experience.

Creative. Innovative. Revolutionary. Captivating.

If you’re an artsy-fartsy such as myself – it is well worth the money.
