i’ve gossiped
i’ve worshipped idols
i’ve stolen
i’ve lied
i’ve abused
i’ve lusted
i’ve grudged
i’ve coveted
i’ve disobeyed
i’ve betrayed
i’ve envied

i’ve lived
i’ve died
i’ve been born again
because
He lived
He died
He rose again

for me
for you
for everyone who accepts
His gift of revolutionary love
the gift of forgiveness
the promise of forever

i’ve lived
i’ve died
i’ve been born again

He lived

perfect i will never be
a sinless life i cannot lead
but by his blood i am cleansed
and through his forgiveness i am free

to
live like Christ is to die
to die is to rise again
