  1. From my understanding they are striking because they aren’t getting royalties from shows that are viewed online. Normally, when a show is rerun or another network picks up the show to rerun it. The writers get some kind of royalty. They are currently getting nothing for all of the online views of the show, even though the networks showing them are selling commercial spots during the online shows. That is my understanding – seems fair.
