things that make me… me

what makes you… you? (for reals… tell me)

my past makes me… me. all during my high school years i was the frumpy… shy and often awkward girl who everyone knew, but didn’t so much pay attention to. you know who i am talking about. you had “her” in your high school too. i didn’t fit in. i was me and that was ok. (high school picture with my long hair still)

the older i get (although still a bit frumpy) the more confident i become in who i am and how i behave, dress, speak… and hopefully in how i worship my God.

My pink hair makes me… me. I haven’t had it this pink in a while, but I plan to very, very soon.

As woman of God… I am quite comfortable with my self-image. In high school I never would have colored my hair pink. I would have been too self-conscience of what other thought. To me now, this is just an extra way of expressing my individuality not only as a creative woman, but as a created woman. created by the hand of God Almighty.

Creativity makes me… me. I have no idea how to function without my spirit, mind and heart revolving around designing. God created me to create for Him and that is SO awesome.

My femininity makes me… me.

“She is the crescendo, the final, astonishing work of God. Woman. In one last flourish creation comes to a finish not with Adam, but with Eve. She is the Master’s finishing touch…Given the way that creation unfolds, how it builds to ever higher and higher works of art, can there be any doubt that Eve is the crown of creation?” … “She is God’s final touch, his ‘piece de resistance.’ She fills a place in the world nothing and no one else can fill. Step to a window, ladies, if you can. Better still, find some place with a view. Look out across the earth and say to yourselves, ‘The whole, vast world is incomplete without me. Creation reached its zenith in me’.” – Captivating, Eldredge

My inner-child makes me… me. I love being the youngest on my staff. I know I won’t always be and that will come sooner rather than later, but right now I love it. I used to HATE being called ‘kid’ or ‘kiddo’ but now I find it endearing and embrace my age.

  1. That post is amazing. I am so thankful for all those things that make you, you. You are incredible…and I am so thankful for the gift of having you in my life! Thank you for sharing your friendship. For me, I think what makes me, me…changes everyday. I dunno~hopefully as I strive to seek Christ, people see that. I long to be a great wife and friend. A sister and daughter. All those things. I think I need to think more about that. I love you!
