Lunch Money Challenge

The global food crisis is forcing millions to go hungry. Please join us TODAY, for Compassion International’s Day of Prayer and Fasting. This is the day we will honor the victims of the global food crisis and pray for them.

One thing I am going to do as a part of my participation in this day of prayer and fasting… is donate the money I would have spent on eating out at lunch to Compassion’s Global Food Crisis Fund.

And that is my challenge for you as well.

Even if you didn’t start out your day fasting… by skipping just one meal, you can help feed and save the lives of the millions of people going without food every day. But, if you can’t skip lunch or read this too late in the day … you can still give! :)

Let me know if you did it! I also encourage you to challenge your friends, family and fellow bloggers! I have an ambitious goal of seeing $1000 in lunch money being donated today… through bloggers spreading this idea around! Together, we can help end world hunger!

Giving to Compassion’s Global Food Crisis Fund provides:
* food vouchers to children and families needing immediate relief.
* seeds and agricultural tools so that families can grow their own food as well as earn extra income.
* supplemental nutrition services offered at Compassion-assisted centers around the world.

Comments

  1. My husband and I are fasting today and will be donating what I would have spent on food at the grocery store for one day…

  2. I just heard about this the other day. I don’t know why we’re not hearing more about this on the news. We’ve upped our support for our child through Compassion to help make up the difference in the inflated gas prices.
