i know this is post #896 of this weekend, but i want to make sure i got this out here.
oh and it’s long. :)
LIGHT THE NIGHT WALK
Kansas City’s 10th annual Light the Night Walk will be held Friday, September 14th, in conjunction with Leukemia & Lymphoma Awareness Month. The Light the Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s nationwide evening walk to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer and will be held in over 300 cities across America this year during September.
MY CANCER CONNECTION
For the 2nd time, I’m participating in the walk in memory of my friend Brandon Eastland as a member of the team “Brandon’s Band”. Brandon was one of the most extraordinary men I will ever know. He lost his battle with cancer January 3rd, 2006 – just 72 days after marrying my best friend. Although he lived a short 28 years… the impact he made in the lives of the people he knew and didn’t even know will live on forever. We coin the phrase, “Brandon’s Band” because he was also an amazing drummer and musician.
I walk for Brandon, his wife, his parents, his frends and in honor of all individuals affected by the battle of cancer.
DONATE
Individually and with a group of friends, we are raising money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and I’m asking you to help by making a contribution toward my fundraising efforts. Individually, I was able to raise $350 last year via online donations made by individuals like yourself. This year, I hope to double that. That’s right, I am hoping to raise $700. But I will obviously not stop there.
Please use the link below to donate online, quickly and securely. You will receive a confirmation by email of your donation and I will be notified as soon as you make your donation. You can learn more about my efforts and make a donation by visiting the following website:
to donate: Crystal’s Light the Night Page
Each donation helps accelerate cures for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma and brings hope to the patients and families who are on the front lines of the battle against these diseases. On behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, thank you very much for your support. I really appreciate your generosity!
If you would like to give offline, just email me with your promised donation amount and I will then tell you how to get it to me.
SPREAD THE WORD
If you feel so led, please post about this on your blogs so as many people has possible can be encouraged to donate as well. I’ve made it easy. Here’s some code to create a sidebar banner or whatever. It will link to my donation page. Use it as you wish. (for some reason there’s an extra “<" at the beginning of the code. just delete it and you'll be fine.)
JOIN THE BAND
If something is tugging on your heart and you feel led to walk. I encourage you to do so. If you are in the Kansas City Area, you can join Brandon’s Band. To join the team visit: www.lightthenight.org/mid. Click on register and then choose join a team. You will find ours by entering “Brandon’s Band” in the search field. If you are not in the Kansas City Area, find a walk in your area by visiting the Light the Night website.
Blessings,
Crystal Renaud

So, well..um I can’t really donate this year..but you know…I am so on board with this cause…because well, you know why. So I know this might be a lame response…but of course my comment will be that I am praying for you, and of course you know that I am. And also that I am proud of you that you are doing this for him and for you.
