better days: update
some of you know that i am all about themes.
kristi just wrote a post about her newly discovered theme. and its definitely a good one: “whatever it takes to save a child”
i wrote about my theme at the beginning of the year because i do these like you would “new years resolutions”. i think one’s purpose and ways of achieving said purpose can vary and change.
from trying to figure out what my 2008 theme, “better days” was going to mean, here’s what i’ve come to realize from it.
there are better days ahead because of people like kristi & dan – on the frontline. there are better days ahead because of people like heather and carlos, adopting losiah from a korean orphanage. there are better days ahead because his birth mother let him have life. there are better days ahead because of the children i sponsor through child sponsorship programs. there are better days ahead because God allows me to work in a thriving and giving church that is a vehicle of opportunity for others to do ministry. there are better days ahead because we’re leaving in 12 days for a missions to south africa – loving the sick, abandoned and desolate. there are better days ahead because anne is writing a book about the real issues facing us all in church leadership. there better days ahead because women are being open and honest about their struggles with sexual addiction.
and there are better days ahead because i refuse to believe any longer that we: the wealthy, the impoverish, the diseased & the neglected have to live a life of complacency. that is not how we were created to live. be a part of the solution.
better days are ahead.
hold fast, help is on the way.
I wish everyone was loved tonight
And somehow stop this endless fight
Just a chance that maybe we’ll find better days
Just a really encourging post. You’re talking like Shaun Groves…watch out! Ha! You might actually make a difference in this world.
Believing in better days means having hope.
And who needs hope more than the the impoverished, the diseased & the neglected?
