Monday Weigh-in #5

After 4 solid weeks on Weight Watchers, this week was the first time I was disappointed with my weight loss. I know any bit of weight loss should be a victory, but today I just feel like a big fatty. I really wanted to see that I reached the 10lb mark today… but it didn’t happen…

My biggest struggle this last week (and I believe is the main reason for my low weight loss number) is that I am not reaching my weekly points. I feel like all I do is eat on this diet and I think my mind is telling me to cut back — when what I really need to do is eat more. My metabolism needs me to eat. I know this to be true but it is still a struggle.

I really need prayer on this one. I don’t want to sabotage my success by doing something as simple as not following guidelines properly.

On a good note, I bought some 1.5lb free weights to use while I use my stationary bike. I did it for the first time Saturday night and it really took my workout up a notch! My arms felt like jell-o after. But awesome. It is also possible that working out would reduce poundage lost because of muscle being gained. But that sounds like a hock of bull.

This Week’s Highlight:
Besides just myself, some people are starting to notice my body changing shape a bit and that’s super cool.

Here’s my week’s numbers…

TODAY
*Weight(lbs): 217.2
*Pounds Lost: .7
*Inches Lost: .5

LAST MONDAY
*Weight(lbs): 217.9
*Pounds Lost: 3.1
*Inches Lost: 2.5

TOTAL LOST TO DATE
(since Sept. 29, 2008)

*Pounds Lost: 8.7
*Inches Lost: 7.75

IS ANYONE HERE ON A DIET/HEALTH PLAN?

Just for the record…I thought 217.9-217.1=.8 LOST! (instead of .7) Hang in there….it is totally possibly that muscle will negate weight loss on the scale….doesn’t help your feelings, but it WILL help your body! Love you.

  2. go veggie sister! its so much better for your overall health, and the transition is easier than you think.
i can give you tons of great recipes!!

    Hi Crystal
The health plan i believe in with my entire heart is The Zone by Barry Sears

You are soooo right. Work out those muscles girl. You can do this. Baby steps….baby steps. Don’t be discouraged by the non-weight loss. Keep focused…keep moving. Hey, do you want to walk at night sometime. We could walk my track at my club. I will give you a pass and pick you up…let me know.

  5. Just be healthy. Extra pounds are scared of healthy lifestyles. They will run away.

Ha ha, funny visual picture of numbers running away from a health food bar. :)

    Love you lots!

I’m trying to lose weight too and I’ve had the same frustration. But I totally believe the muscle thing is true. If you think about it you really had a great week because what if you lost 3 pounds of fat and gained 2 pounds of muscle. Muscle has a higher metabolism so that will make things easier in the future.
You are doing a great job! Thanks for inspiring me.

  7. Hang in there! You are getting healthier and the lbs will come off (and the inches). Eating IS important though!! Picture it like sucking on a creamy milk chocolate bar, letting it melt in your mouth, savoring every second—-now think about your body doing that to every morsel you eat if you don’t eat often—your body “savors” every bit of it, hanging onto every calorie and using every bit of it to keep the energy. Instead of losing weight, your body just learns to hold onto every ounce ’cause it doesn’t know when you will feed it again!!

    keep pressing on…
